Being happy and staying positive doesn’t come naturally to most people; it’s a choice that you make and a goal you work toward every single day.

Each of us, surely, would like to be happy and stay happy, but it takes conscious effort to make it happen.

Life is full of challenges, some more difficult than others. With a few easy steps, you can manage those challenges better and be on the path to happiness. Here are some things to incorporate into your daily routine:

Drinking enough water

Did you know that 43% of adults are consuming less than four glasses of water a day? The human body is mainly made up of water. It needs to be replenished on a daily basis to keep all your organs working well. Insufficient water intake makes it difficult to focus, causes fatigue, and even headaches.

Keep your body energized by having enough water every day. Use apps that remind you to have water every hour or get a reusable water bottle that reminds you and helps you track how much water you’ve had throughout the day.

Exercising instantly lifts your mood since it releases endorphins in the brain. You feel more energized once you’ve worked out. There’s a sense of accomplishment that comes with going to the gym and getting a good workout in the midst of a busy schedule.

Having a morning routine

Morning routines aren’t just a thing YouTubers do. It’s essential to have a routine so that you start off the day on a positive note. If you’re one to sleep through alarms and wake up groggy and demotivated, a steady morning routine can set the tone for your entire day. Rushing to get ready and having a chaotic morning will surely affect your mood for the whole day.

Work on developing a morning routine. Wake up on time or begin waking up earlier so that you can feel more grounded and confident about your day. Wash your face, brush your teeth, have something to eat, set goals, meditate, do your skincare routine, and then get ready. These activities are small ways of investing in yourself before you start investing in other tasks on your to-do list.

Try to stay off mainstream social media first thing in the morning. You don’t need to be bombarded with what other people are up to, right when you wake up. Instead, move to a new social networking platform, AWESOME.
