Living a life full of positivity takes some work and self-reflection. Everyone has days when they’re down, but it’s how we deal with such moments that make the most difference.
If you’re often referred to as a ‘ray of sunshine,’ you know how warm and fuzzy it makes you feel to know that others admire your zest for life. Spread this positivity wherever you go!
Here are some ways to inspire positivity in others:
Be yourself, unapologetically
We’ve all portrayed ourselves as something we’re not at some point in our life online. Why do we do that? For the most part, it’s about seeking validation from our peers. When we live a life driven by validation from others, it’s easy to keep seeking it. It’s a vicious cycle that may take us away from who we authentically are.
Keeping up with a façade is very difficult and emotionally draining as well. Be true to yourself every step of the way and you’ll notice how much happier you feel.
Staying true to yourself will inspire people to do the same too. If all of us looked, behaved, and lived the same life—where’s the fun in that?
Make time to do what you love
Having a 9-to-5 job is amazing, but not all of us are able to do something we’re passionate about as a job. Make sure you take the time out to pursue the things you’re passionate about as well.
If you’re a banker for five days of the week, it doesn’t mean you can’t be an artist or musician on the weekends or even after work. Doing what you love makes life that much more fulfilling to live!
When others see you pursuing your passion so wholeheartedly, while being a responsible adult, they too will be inspired to follow in your footsteps.
Always be caring and empathetic
Being a positive human being is all about being kind to one another. Show care and concern for those around you; be supportive of your friends and family and be mindful of the things you post online.
Make a special effort to not hurt people with the things you say and if you do, clear the air and apologize for hurting their feelings. When someone tells you they’ve been hurt by you, be mindful of how you react. Telling someone not to cry or trying to one-up them in a situation is never the answer. Just be there for those close to you and try to understand what they’re going through. Offer support in any way possible.
